Although the Eagles suffered a very disappointing loss on Sunday to the Giants, but there was one positive about the game. I was able to attend as a guest of Verizon and had the opportunity to demo a Moto X by Motorola.
As an iPhone user, I was a little skeptical about how much I’d like the Android operating system. However, I found it to be very easy to navigate and quite fast. The Play Store was a bit of an adjustment from the App Store on iOS, but it was pretty easy to understand and find everything I was looking for.
One of my favorite features of the phone was the screen. It’s very large and the resolution is quite impressive. Despite having a much larger screen then my current iPhone, it is by no means a bulky phone. As I’ve seen a lot of phones come out with these really big screens, I’ve been skeptical about how carrying around one of those phones would be. The Moto X maximizes the real estate that it has on the device and is very thin. It felt no different in my pocket than my current phone.
By far, the best part of the phone was Verizon’s 4G LTE network. I’m still currently on 3G so it was my first experience on 4G LTE. The speed was incredible. All apps I ran loaded data in an instant and were much smoother than my 3G network.
Personally, I’m pretty attached to my iPhone and the iOS platform. However, I can see why people rave about other phones running on Android. I’m not convinced that I’d make the switch but I believe that when I’m going to upgrade my phone next that I’ll have to really weigh all my options. One thing I know for sure is that my next phone will definitely need to be on the 4G LTE network. After experiencing that speed, I don’t want to go back.
Again, big thanks to Verizon Wireless!
